With over 12 years educating the public, caring for animals and traveling across Canada, Matt Korhonen, who many of you know from visiting Little Ray’s over the years, will be running what is sure to be our very best camps ever. Get up close and interactive with a variety of animals at the zoo. Immerse yourself in the inner workings of a zoo. Learn about the care and maintenance of the incredible species on display, and gain in-depth knowledge of the many species of plants and animals that live at the zoo and the in the forests around Ottawa. All done in a fun, interactive, energetic, engaging format.
BRAND NEW THIS YEAR – CAMPS AT AND IN CONJUNCTION WITH DOVERCOURT REC CENTRE AND THE MIDWAY.
Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo will be offering camps at Dovercourt Rec Centre and The Midway. We offer the most incredible camp for animal lovers and nature enthusiasts. If a commute to the zoo is challenging, Dovercourt or the Midway could be right down your street.
Do you want to send your camper to Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo’s camp but the zoo is just too far for the daily commute? Brand new for 2012 Little Ray’s is offering 6 weeks of camp at Dovercourt Rec Centre and The Midway. Half the day will be spent with one of Little Ray’s senior keepers teaching kids about bugs, reptiles, amphibians, insects, spiders, and even birds while the other half will be spent with Dovercourt’s or The Midway’s staff enjoying games, sports, crafts, and swimming (where available). Enjoy snake day, lizard day, turtle and tortoise day, crocodile day and bug day in a fun, interactive, educational setting. These camps are being offered the weeks of July 3rd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd and August 13th and 20th.

Camps at the zoo!
Offered at our newly renovated zoo, this week long program’s focus is on Eco-education: everything from endangered species to protecting our fragile environment. And of course, lots and lots of hands on with the animals. Days are filled with fun, hands on interactive info sessions, crafts, sports, and nature hikes as well as a daily swims to cool off at our area pool. Camps run from 9 to 4 each day with pre and post care available as early as 7am and as late as 6pm at $6/hr per family. We accept children from 4-14 years old, and take a maximum of 40 children a week. Please note: Children are divided by age, 4-8 years old, and 9-14 years old. Cost of the camp is $240 a week with discounts available for multiple weeks. Camps start the week of July 2nd with the last week of camp being the week of August 27th. You can register at anytime in person, by email or by fax via the camp registration form (613-822-8926), with a 50% deposit due at the time of registration (remaining balance due by the first day of camp).
