Hello friends,
This Monday, October 14th at 10:00 am we are meeting at the Mer Bleue Bog off Anderson Road for our first fall ‘Nature Outing’ of the year. As always these events are free for anyone to attend whether you have been to our zoo or not so please invite friends and you do NOT need to have children to come. It is open to all so please ‘share’. The Mer Bleue Bog is one of the largest bogs in Southern Ontario and is a gem of an ecosystem in Ottawa. It has a wonderful 3 km trail and boardwalk running through and around the bog. This is a wonderful place to go for a nature hike with lots of birds, frogs, and turtles throughout the summer. With this being said it is almost hibernation time for a lot of our cold blooded friends so hopefully the sun will be out as we will certainly see turtles if it is. I will have one of our staff who are experienced birders as well.
The plan is to meet at the parking lot at the Mer Bleue Bog Boardwalk off at the end of Ridge Rd which is off Anderson Rd at 10:00 am on Monday the 14th. Below is a link for The Mer Bleue Bog with directions on how to get there. Drive to the very end I will be there. My beautiful wife Sheri and our wonderful triplets will be in tow. Look for the guy in the Tilley hat chasing around three 2 year olds…..
