Little Ray’s Reptile Pet Store is your one stop shop. We carry quality, pet appropriate reptiles, amphibians and tarantulas and are proud to carry only captive bred animals. We also carry a full line of supplies, including terrariums, light fixtures, UV bulbs, supplements, feeders, terrarium accessories and much, much more. Our pet store staff is some of the best in the business and is always there to answer questions, even after you’ve brought your new family member home.

Why would a zoo open a pet store?

Since the zoo opened in 2000, we were inundated with calls from people looking for advice for their pet reptile. We found that the majority of pet reptiles available were wild caught, not suitable for the average person to care for, and not enough correct information was being given out at the time of purchase. We struggled with the idea of opening a pet store for many years. Most of the animals that are on display as part of the zoo’s collection were unwanted pets, so we did not want to add to the problem. Eventually, it became obvious that Ottawa was in need of a reptile store where only captive bred, pet appropriate animals were being sold by people who have had years of experience caring for reptiles. Thus, Little Ray’s Reptile Pet Store opened January 2007 with much success. If you are new to the hobby or have been caring for reptiles for years, we invite you to visit our store.
