At Your Location

Little Ray's educational presentations away from the zoo have been a hit in eastern Ontario and Western Quebec for over 10 years. These school presentations are a proven hit for all age groups.

Our interpreters will take your group on a trip around the world showing you animals found as close as your own backyard to as far away as Australia. These dynamic presentations are hand on, interactive, thoroughly educational and of course fun. Your group can expect to see about 10 to 12 animals including snakes, lizards, turtles, tortoises, tarantulas, scorpions and a crocodilian.

All presentations can be catered to your groups individual needs or lesson plans, and can be done in both English or French. Whether you are studying indigenous animals, endangered animals, mans impact on nature, or just a unit on reptiles and amphibians, we can make our program fit your curriculum or area of interest.

Cost is $145.00 for an hour long presentation, but if your school or group would like additional presentations at the same location on the same day, each additional presentation is only $100.00 +GST each if there is not more than a 1 hour break in between shows.

The Big Bad Bug Show $130.00 - 1 hour in length. Back by popular demand, this presentation includes 12-14 insects, arachnids and other invertebrates from around the world. Cockroaches, tarantulas, stick insects, scorpions, beetles and more. Lots of hands on. Recommended for smaller groups, approximately 15-20 or less.

Birds of Prey $250.00 for a 45 minute demonstration. This demonstration includes 4-5 birds of prey including owls, hawks, vultures & falcons. Two zookeepers will display and discuss the different adaptations each bird has. This is a free flight demonstration, with the birds flying from zookeeper to zookeeper. This can be done outside (weather permitting) or in a large indoor area.

All prices are subject to 5% GST. (We recommend smaller groups whenever possible as this allows us to be more hands on and interactive.) Due to the ever increasing price of gas, we now add a $10 fuel surcharge to all outreach programs within the Ottawa/Gatineau region.

At the Zoo

Since opening the zoo in the Fall of 2000, Little Ray's Reptile Zoo has catered to groups of all interests and sizes. Whether you have a group of 15 or 150, we have the facilities to educate and entertain.

Phase one is a visit in the main part of the zoo where you can see over 80 displays with animals from around the world. At this time you can also expect to see some interpretive feeding demonstrations. Phase two is where your group can get up close and personal with some of the critters. This is a "hands on" demonstration where you can expect to hold and interact with animals few people have a chance to see in their lifetime.

This package is $175.50 for the first 15 people, with additional at $6.00/each. Please note that one adult is admitted free for every 5 children in attendance. Your total time for the two phases is approximately 2 hours, but if you would like to stick around for lunch, you can do so in our outdoor picnic area (open June to October) or in our indoor party rooms.

These prices include 5% GST and 10% PST.
