2015-16 PD & Holiday Camp Form

Junior Herpetologist PD day Camps are a fun and educational opportunity that gives kids aged 7-15 a unique experience. Through fun interactive activities campers will learn about the world around them.

Campers will assist with real zoo keeping tasks, learn about zoo animals and get opportunities to handle many species of animal. Campers will also go on nature walks daily and learn about the environment as well as local flora and fauna. Due to the hands on nature of camp there is a limit of 10 participants per day.

2015/2016 Camp Days:

  • October 9th, 2015
  • November 20th, 2015
  • Winter Break 2015 - December 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 28th, 29th, 30th, and 31st.
  • January 22nd, 2016
  • February 12th, 2016
  • March Break 2016 - March 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, and 18th.
  • June 10th, 2016

Junior Herpetologist Camp will start at 9 am sharp. Pre-care can be prearranged starting at 7 am. Regular camp drop off is between 8:30 and 9. Camp programs run until 4 pm and pickup starts at 4 unless otherwise arranged; if prearranged post-care is available until 6 pm.

Junior Zoo Keeper Camp I & II offer 10 days of unique programing and can be taken individually or together in any order.

Junior Zoo Keeper I & II Camps are a fun and educational opportunity that gives kids aged 6-14 unique experiences. Through fun interactive activities Junior Zoo Keepers will learn what it takes to be a real life zoo keeper. They will spend the entire week with Zoo staff, assist with realzoo keeping tasks, learn about zoo animals and get opportunities to handle many species of animal. Junior Zoo Keepers will also go on nature walks daily and learn about the environment as well as local flora and fauna. The Junior Zoo Keeper I & II Camps offer 10 days of unique programing and can be taken individually or together in any order.

Little Ray’s Summer Camps will run from 9 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday including holidays. Camp will run on the following weeks:

  • Week 1 Junior Zoo Keeper I July 4 – July 8
  • Week 2 Junior Zoo Keeper II July 11 – July 15
  • Week 3 Junior Zoo Keeper I July 18 – July 22
  • Week 4 Junior Zoo Keeper II July 25 – July 29
  • Week 5 Junior Zoo Keeper I Aug 1 – Aug 5, camp will run on the Civic Holiday
  • Week 6 Junior Zoo Keeper II Aug 8 – Aug 12
  • Week 7 Junior Zoo Keeper I Aug 15 – Aug 19
  • Week 8 Junior Zoo Keeper II Aug 22 – Aug 27
  • Week 9 Junior Zoo Keeper I Aug 29 – Sept 2

You can register any time in person, by email or by fax (613-822-8926), with a 50% deposit due at the time of registration (remaining balance due by the first day of camp).

It is recommended to register early as space is limited and fills quickly. We have a strict NO PEANUT rule in all of our camps.

WE ALSO OFFER SUMMER CAMPS AT AND IN CONJUNCTION WITH DOVERCOURT REC CENTRE.

We offer the most incredible camp for animal lovers and nature enthusiasts. Do you want to send your camper to Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo’s camp but the zoo is just too far for the daily commute? At Dovercourt, half the day will be spent with one of Little Ray’s senior keepers teaching kids about bugs, reptiles, amphibians, insects, spiders, and even birds while the other half will be spent with Dovercourt’s staff enjoying games, sports, crafts, and swimming. Enjoy snake day, lizard day, turtle and tortoise day, crocodile day and bug day in a fun, interactive, educational setting. Please contact Dovercourt directly to book as spots are filling fast.
